Acronis Backup?? You mean Acronis True Image 2017? Works OK for me as .iso.
If it is linux based, then it should work.
Maybe there is a hardware compatibility issue?
Did you make the 32-bit version or 64-bit version?
If 32-bit you can try booting it using \QEMU_MENU_TEST.cmd in root of drive.

re. DLC - it says to use .isoHW

For some you may need to convert to .imgPTN. HBCD Proteus is listed on the page link I gave you as tested and working if you use .imgPTN.
